Idaho roots.
Medicaid experience.

Leveraging more than 80 years of experience providing innovative solutions to improve health outcomes while driving down the cost of care for members across Idaho, Healthy Blue is ready to strengthen the health, safety and independence of Idahoans served by Medicaid.

About Healthy Blue

Healthy Blue is a collaboration formed by Gemstone Holdings, Inc., parent company of Blue Cross of Idaho and Anthem Partnership Holding Company, LLC (Anthem), specifically to serve Idaho Medicaid enrollees. Anthem has over 35 years of Medicaid experience through its parent and affiliated companies, serving more than 8 million Medicaid enrollees across 24 markets. Its expertise – combined with Blue Cross of Idaho’s over 80 years of service to Idahoans and longstanding provider relationships – positions Healthy Blue to bring both innovation and improved outcomes to the Idaho Medicaid program as it transitions to managed care for the new contract.

  • Focusing on each individual’s needs and preference and facilitating timely, effective care.
  • Ensuring all members, including those in rural and frontier areas, get comprehensive care from trusted providers.

Investments that go above and beyond

The alliance partners forming Healthy Blue have a long history of investing in the communities they serve, delivering whole-person health services and bringing trusted local solutions in partnership with community-based organizations. We are strengthening those capabilities for Medicaid populations and expanding scalable investments in Idaho communities that address social determinants of health.

We’re leveraging more than 100 partnerships that Blue Cross of Idaho has with community organizations.

Healthy Blue’s partnership with Boys & Girls Club of Ada County supports more than 4,700 youth through development programs that address academic success, nutrition, mental health and overall well-being.

More than 17,000 individuals each month are served by The Idaho Foodbank’s Mobile Pantry, supported by Healthy Blue.

Our commitment to exceeding expectations results in improved health outcomes. By going the extra mile, we will enhance the quality of life for Idahoans.
